WAITE PARK Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park will participate in a national demonstration project to assure quality and improve performance in nursing homes.
The Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) project will build on the quality assurance programs that nursing homes have in place for monitoring and emphasizing ongoing performance improvement.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is leading the initiative and has contracted with the University of Minnesota to lead the project to learn what nursing homes need for implementing the QAPI program.
Sterling Park Health Care Center will participate with 16 other nursing homes in four states to develop and launch QAPI programs, test technical assistance approaches and evaluate program implementation.
Demonstration participants will play a key role in helping to shape training materials and resources that will eventually be available to all nursing homes nationwide.
